I also have issues with letting the world know where I am by using platforms such as Facebook or Foursquare. At the same time, I have done it in the past with Facebook. I think as long as you are with friends in a public place in the middle of a celebration, there is no problem with letting people know. On the other hand, it also worries me how the information might be used by other people or by some companies. I used to live in Colombia, and it intrigues me if people use this applications as much in places where security is an issue. Do you think you are thinking about your personal security and that is why you don't like these features?

I agree with you in seeing things in a narrow way. I feel that as public relations practitioners, the way to connect with people is identifying the general picture of an issue, and then breaking it apart and studying the little braches. It is after you dissect a problem and understand it in a bigger context (and without any context at all) that we can come up with creative ways to emotionally connect with people. Sometimes we will connect by using our main perception of a problem, while others we will focus on a small detail that can make a change in the big scheme of things, but that might be overlooked by some people that don't pay attention to the components of an issue.

OH Omar, I totally understand what you're saying here! I also get overwhelmed when I don't have time to read everything that everyone I follow is doing. In my case, most of the blogs that I follow are blogs from illustrators and artists, so while some post pictures and illustrations that are easy and fast to read, others post links and videos and I can get so immersed into reading them that I stop doing things that I should be doing. One of the good things that I have learned in our social media class is how to use an RSS reader to keep track of what everyone is publishing and being able to save time with it. You should try it.

Well well well...although I understand your point of view about the logistics of posting comments, my issue lies more in what to say in my comments. I procrastinate quite a lot because I feel very self conscious about posting comments. One part of me thinks that I should treat it as an assignment and just do it, while other part forces me to have something valuable to say that should be interesting enough to be an original post. Does anybody have problems with that? Maybe I should follow your path and create an original post about my posting problem situation.
