That’s funny, I wrote something related on my blog. I guess I’m a little different because I have always loved to read. In any case, you mentioned at the beginning of the article that some people consider “reading” just from one angle. While I agree that social media and the Internet generates individuals to be constantly reading, you can not truly compare reading a blog like yours or mine, to reading real/ heavy literature. Fomenting the habit of reading is a great thing to attribute to social media, yet we could compare reading blogs or news articles online to reading magazines or encyclopedias twenty years ago. Now it is more constant action, but still on a different level than reading a classic (on a physical or digital outlet).
