Hey Mike, I think people do look for some vibrant feeling when they are browsing Facebook. Daily life can seem uneventful, boring, or even colorless for some people, which can contrast dramatically with what people feel like they need to portray on their profile pages. I read an article once about how some people became depressed because Facebook only showed the “happy side” of their friends’ lives. Some of them believe that if you don’t have pictures from a weekend, dinner, or gathering, then the event was worthless. Therefore, some people seek emotions (humorous or dramatic) from their friends’ newsfeed, just like they pretend to post their “emotions” on it. I think I will research about that article and maybe write my next blog entry about it.
